1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup Irish butter, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup Mariani Sliced Almonds
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
Combine sugar and melted butter in a mixing bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment and beat on medium for one minute.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Add in almond extract and vanilla extract, mixing well to combine all ingredients.
Sift flour and salt together in a separate bowl.
With the mixer on low, add flour mixture a little at a time until all is mixed in and the batter is smooth.
Pour batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan, smoothing the top.
Sprinkle Mariani Sliced Almonds on the top and bake in a 350 degree oven 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the almonds are toasted. Serve warm or room temperature.
